Meet Mahvash Sepasi Ashtiani

Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Mahvash Ghorbany studied Chemistry and Biology before building a career in science and business. In 1994, she moved to South Africa with her family, becoming an important part of the Ghorbany story and its showrooms.

Following the passing of her husband, Reza Ghorbany, in 2020, Mahvash returned to her passion for painting. Art became a new form of expression, transforming emotion, memory and freedom into vibrant abstract works.

Today, her instinctive and expressive paintings have found homes in South Africa and internationally. The Ghorbany collection holds 300+ original works, capturing a remarkable chapter of an artist’s life — one that began after science, business, migration, love and loss.
