Meet Niza Ndamase
Niza Ndamase, born in 2000, is a visual artist based in Johannesburg and originally form the Eastern Cape.
Her practice explores the female experience through acrylic paintings on cardboard paper, reflecting on how women are perceived and represented in today's society. Ndamase intentionally chooses not to paint the faces of her subjects, reflecting the idea that women are often "seen and not heard".
Through her work, she gives visual expression to the complexities of womanhood while celebrating the women who have surrounded, raised and shaped her into the woman she is today.
