Meet Sihlobo Bukhosi Moyo
Growing up surrounded by diverse traditions and visual culture, he developed and early connection to art through drawing, clay and everyday materials. He later studied Art and Design as part of his teaching course (2018-2022).
Moyo works across charcoal, painting, pottery and textiles combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary expression. His practice explores identity, belonging, vulnerability and the emotional "veiles" people wear in everyday life, inviting viewers to reflect on their own strengths and struggles.
His work has gained recognition through two PRACA Art Awards and a feature in Chronicles for his evocative charcoal works. He has exhibited at Salon Vanguard and Contra Joburg and continues to develop a practice that connects heritage, contemporary storytelling and the shared human experience.
